We are looking for someone fast paced, efficient and FUN loving to prepare healthy meals for our students.

Below are a few other requirements. 

  1. Plans and prepares foods in accordance with Kids 'R' Kids, state and USDA standards.
  2. Purchases food and supplies necessary to prepare the planned menus for the number of enrolled children.
  3. Plans meals far enough ahead to minimize the need for food substitutions; when substitutions are necessary, with prior approval, purchases and serves food of equivalent nutritional value. With guidance from the owner or director, modifies menus for children with allergies. Documents all modifications and substitutes on posted menu.
  4. Prepares meals and snacks in such a way that a minimum of nutrients are lost from foods, that ensure foods taste good and look appealing, and that there are ample amounts of foods for children to have additional servings.
  5. Maintains established standards of sanitation, safety and food preparation and storage as set by Kids 'R' Kids International, the local and state health departments; maintains an orderly, sanitary, and safe kitchen.
  6. If applicable delivers foods from the kitchen to the classrooms ready to be served as suitable for the children's age and development. (See USDA guidelines)
  7. Assures the proper care and maintenance of all food service equipment; identifies equipment needs for food preparation and service and assists in purchasing as needed.
  8. Compliant with state training requirements. Participates in professional training opportunities.
  9. Participates in all emergency drills and environmental safety activities.
  10. Participates in general staff meetings and other meetings and events planned by the owner and director.
  11. Performs other duties, as assigned.
  12. Arrive on time in proper attire. Wear a hair net or secure hair away from food.
  13. Wear food service gloves when handling food.
  14. Comply with OSHA guidelines.
  15. Communicate with children in friendly and positive manner.
  16. As a mandated reporter report any acts of abuse to owner and director. Minimum Requirements
  17. Meet the requirements set by the state child care regulatory agency for the position of cook.
  18. Have verifiable references.
  19. Have a background in food service.
  20. Be a self-starter with the ability to make good judgment calls.
  21. Maintain certification in CPR and First Aid.
