The Pool Attendant position ensures the safety of pool and waterpark patrons and assists with aquatic programs and pool operation. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Lifeguard and Facility Manager.

 

Essential Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Safeguards and regulates conduct of pool and waterpark patrons. Enforces park policies, rules, and regulations.  Monitors patrons during use of park amenities
  • Supports the safe and orderly use of pool and park amenities such as slides and other aquatic fixtures in accordance with safety standards
  • Respond quickly, intelligently, and decisively in accordance with established emergency and accident procedures.  Must be alert and actively seek to prevent accidents and eliminate risk.
  • Attends in-service training and instructs certain skills to staff. Provides customer service to patrons, including handling customer conflict and complaints, as necessary
  • Performs work safely in accordance with departmental safety procedures. Operates equipment safely and reports any unsafe work conditions or practice to supervisor.  Ensures park facilities are maintained to safety, cleanliness and operational standards
  • Must communicate with patrons professionally and courteously to answer questions, resolve conflicts and enforce park policies and rules
  • Sweep, wash down, mop and clean the pool deck; use squeegee to dry decks.
  • Check pool restrooms, showers and locker areas throughout the shift for supply levels, cleanliness and working order; rectify any deficiencies and clean sections as assigned with proper chemicals, tools and equipment
  • Obtain clean towels from Laundry and transport to Pool/Beach; fold and stack towels
  • Ensures the property is clean, orderly, well manicured and guest ready at all times

Performs other duties as assigned

Provides regular and reliable attendance

 

 

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Preferred: A valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certificate and American Red Cross First Aid certificate or other comparable certification. AND/OR certified in American Red Cross Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Previous experience working at pool attendant
  • Must be able to swim independently
