Puff 'n Stuff Catering & Events is currently in search of an enthusiastic, personable and driven person to join our team as a Catering Service Manager

The Catering Service Manager (CSM) is the Department Leader for the service side of the catering operation. The CSM will lead a team of supervisors, servers, bartenders, event chefs and other service roles to execute the events as detailed in the Special Event Order.

Catering Service Manager Essential Functions

  • Partners with HR and Training managers  to assure staff is prepared for daily needs
  • Review all staff hours, staff consistency in working to budget
  • Handle uniform inventory control
  • Conducts interviews and provides feedback regarding candidates.
  • Reviews and assures On-Boarding and functional training for new team members  
  • Creates / Reviews / Develops training materials and sets levels of expectations of all service staff members
  • Develops and Educates team on new service styles
  • Reviews and categorizes opportunity for growth and champions new policies    
  • Assesses training opportunities from observations, customer survey results, and customer feedback and makes recommendations to execute action plans Communicates and develops action plan
  • Supervises and/or conducts the technical training for new and tenured staff
  • Conduct orientation sessions
  • Champion the Creation of brochures and training materials
  • Develop multimedia visual aids and presentations
  • Create testing and evaluation processes
  • Implement and administer training budget
  • Evaluate needs of company and plan training programs accordingly
  • Conduct performance evaluations
  • Provide companies with classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops
  • Provide performance feedback
  • Conduct continuing education training
  • Provide leadership development education
  • Regularly provides support and guidance for the field team during event load outs
  • Build solid cross-functional relationships
  • Provide logistical support, course development, delivery, evaluation, process measurements, and cost management
  • Support HR in the planning of the implementation and facilitation of activities and events, budget spending, material production and distribution, and other resources to ensure that operations are managed within authorized budgets
  • Assist with the development of strategic plans

Catering Service Manager Expectations

  • Create and adhere to job based budgets for the service team
  • Adhere to , deploy and create new staffing policies,
  • Serves as primary in executing effective talent selection, training, coaching, motivating and disciplining staff accordingly  
  • Provides feedback for the Operations and Sales teams, individual development plans and annual performance reviews for team  
  • Sets, monitors, follows up on productivity goals
  • Ensure service needs are being meet, or development of growth plan
  • Monitors, maintains and follows company policies and procedures  
  • Reviews staffing needs based on Sales recommendations
  • Reviews/ creates logistical plans and steps of service
  • Performs additional managerial duties as necessary 
  • Exhibits a neat and clean appearance consistent with a professional image at all times
  • Interact with clients, guests and other vendors to provide friendly and superior service
  • Represent Puff 'n Stuff Catering's core values of Quality, Dedication and Creativity.

Work Environment

  • May be indoor or outdoor setting
  • Varied weather condition are expected
  • Varying schedule to include holidays, weekday, weekends and extended hours as business dictates

Physical Demands

 Ability to regularly lift, move, and carry up to 50lbs. Daily workload may include the unloading/loading of necessary equipment for events as needed.

Catering Service Manager Required Education and Experience

  • Be able to pass back ground check
  • Speak English fluently and be able to write basic English
  • Reliable transportation to, and from locations throughout Tampa and Sarasota
  • Cash handling experience
  • Must work well in teams, as well as alone, and be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Familiar with a variety of mixed drink recipes, knowledgeable about beer and wine, and have a clear understanding of state and company regulations when serving alcohol
  • I.P.S certified a plus, or able to obtain within 60 days of application
  • Serve Safe certification
