The successful candidate will possess certification as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS via CCI) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS via ARDMS) as well as Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS via CCI) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT via ARDMS) with at least 2 years of relevant experience. 

Prior experience with Siemens Acuson Ultrasound equipment, and Ultralinq diagnostic study management systems is a plus. Sonographers facilitate diagnostic results by obtaining, reviewing, and bringing together pertinent patient history, physical examination, and supporting clinical data. They register patients by entering patient identifying information into computer; updating medical database; obtaining patient consent forms. They determine test procedures by reviewing the purpose of the examination, comfort patients by explaining procedures; assisting patient in proper positioning, ensure accurate test results by selecting transducer; making equipment adjustments according to nature of test, depth of field, and other specifications of test.  Sonographers conduct test procedures by moving transducer by hand over specified area of body; monitoring movement on display screen, making sure the image produced facilitates diagnosis by observing sound wave display screen to monitor quality of ultrasound image produced, facilitating diagnoses by producing, assessing, and evaluating ultrasound images and related data used by physicians and advanced practitioners to render a medical diagnosis.  Sonographers maintain equipment and software by following operating instructions; performing quality control checks of sonographic equipment; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance procedures; backing up computer software and data; calling for repairs and information technology support.
