The Groundskeeping Supervisor is responsible for supervising work activities of grounds staff to ensure clean, orderly, and visually appealing grounds and surrounding areas. Assign duties, inspect work, and investigate complaints regarding groundskeeping and equipment and take corrective action. May purchase grounds supplies and equipment, take periodic inventories, screen applicants, train new employees, and recommend dismissals. They are responsible for the daily upkeep of the property buildings and grounds.

  • Operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws
  • Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards
  • Investigates complaints regarding groundskeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action
  • Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment
  • Performs grounds duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage
  • Examines resort property to determine need for repairs, replacement, or grounds attention and makes recommendations to management

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • 2+ years' groundskeeping experience
