At Hilton Garden Inn & Homewood Suites Miami Dolphin Mall we are searching for highly-motivated individuals who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidates should be passionate about providing a high quality food and service. 

Responsibilities

  1. Provides professional and courteous service all time.
  2. Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
  3. Rotates and places all food in clean containers, labeled, and dated
  4. Verifies that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity
  5. Operates large volume of cooking equipment such as grills, deep fat fryers, or griddles
  6. Cut, trim, bone, and carve meats and poultry for preparation and cooking
  7. Pre-cook items such as bacon in order to prepare them for later use
  8. Prevent the spoiling and contamination of foods by practicing proper sanitation and complying with hotel policy and health regulations.
  9. Clean, stock and restock workstations.
  10. Properly maintain small kitchen tools, i.e., sharpen knives
  11. Read food order slips or receive verbal instructions as to food required by patron and prepare and cook food according to instructions
  12. Works with dishwasher, servers, and other cooks to provide a clean and maintained work area
  13. Completes projects as determined by the Executive Chef
  14. Attends monthly department meetings
  15. Communicates with the Executive Chef/ Banquet Captain to ensure the proper delivery of banquet food activities and special functions

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in a restaurant.
  • Ensure daily events are properly executed.
  • Communicate with other departments and front of the house management to ensure successful execution of daily events.
  • Ensure excellent food quality at all times.
  • Proven track record in improving kitchen efficiencies, quality, food and labor costs
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have knowledge of kitchen sanitation, operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
  • Outstanding attention to detail - both personal grooming/appearance and properly identifying guests needs, demeanor, and level of required service attention.
  • Food safety certified.
