The Doubletree by Hilton Times Square West is looking for a Rooftop Bar Manager to join the growing team! The hotel is looking to re-launch our famous HighBar after closing to the public during the pandemic. 

In this role, you will focus on rooftop (HighBar) food and beverage operations with heavy involvement in proactively marketing and managing client, private and other social events. You will be responsible in the hiring process of the bar and wait staff and work closely with hotel management and security to ensure customer satisfaction and safety.

The ideal candidate will be a driven leader with creativity, initiative, and passion seeking to advance within hospitality. At least 2-3 years of food and beverage leadership experience with a background in rooftop management preferred. Prior experience in In-Room Dining and managing restaurant operations is a plus.

What will I be doing?

Reporting to the General Manager, the Rooftop Bar Manager is responsible for the direction and supervision of food servers, bartenders, and other staff in reference to schedules, service standards, training, motivation, and safety. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standard:

  • Monitor product quality and guest satisfaction at Rooftop Bar. Ensure that food quality is consistent, appealing, and prepared to guest specifications. Interact with guests to obtain feedback on quality of service and food in outlet. Greet and seat customers, resolve problems to the satisfaction of involved parties and answer telephones in a clear voice, coordinate and document reservation.
  • Document inventory forecast usage and monitor supply so that restaurants are stocked with linen, glassware, silverware, china, condiments, in order to provide service.
  • Assist in ensuring that restaurant complies with sanitation and safety standards for guests and team members. Check that all equipment is in working order. Visually inspect and take action to ensure that facilities in restaurant look appealing and attractive to guests. Follow up on work orders so repairs and maintenance of facility are completed on a timely basis.
  • Participate in marketing efforts of rooftop events, create menu ideas, survey competition and report food trends, and assist in preparations of specials. Interact with customers to determine needs, satisfaction and resolve conflicts.
  • Must be New York savvy with prime location experience as well as be in the know of NYC happenings. 
  • Must be TIPS certified and Department of Health food handling license needed.
