Job Description: As the Director of Sales & Catering you will be tasked with contracting banquets & events within the hotels banquet space, as well as, securing new business travel accounts, growing positive relationships with existing accounts, and assuring positive recognition within the local community. Weddings, executive meetings, luncheons and other events will be secured and maintained by the Director of Sales & Catering, along with administrative support from the hotel Sales Coordinator. 

Professional Experience:   

Minimum 2 years of Full-Service hotel sales experience

Previous experience planning or selling Weddings & Banquets preferred

Prior experience with Hilton Hotels and Delphi.fdc preferred

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Secure banquets & events upon inquiries from our Weddings & Events sites. Ensure the Operations/Catering Team is aware and prepared for these meetings via weekly BEO Meetings.
  2. Solicit, negotiate and generate contracted revenues from business travel prospects that meet criteria established in the hotel business plan
  3. Accurately prepare and present RFPs within required timeframe(s) to benefit both the hotel and the client
  4. Prospect for new business using a variety of methods including phone calls, outside sales calls, attending community functions, internet prospecting, supplier partnerships, trade journals, etc.
  5. Develop, implement and execute sales action plans.
  6. Develop Targeted Marketing efforts & corresponding annual sales expense budgets in coordination with the Corporate Director of Sales
  7. Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM (Delphi.fdc)
  8. Negotiate and close contracts that meet the hotel's business plan objectives. 
  9. Internally communicate client requirements, thereby ensuring all information is accurate between client and hotel staff. 
  10. Coordinate and participate in target market trade shows, expos and sales blitzes.
  11. Conduct competitive analysis and maintain competitor files in order to be able to compete successfully.
  12. Maintain good rapport with local civic groups and companies.
  13. Work closely with the hotel Sales Coordinator whom reports directly to the DOSC.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

Job Skills:

  1. Computer skills to include daily use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams & Sharepoint. Canva, Delphi.fdc (Salesforce).
  2. Familiarity with brand-specific property management system (Hilton OnQ, R&I, GRO).
  3. Ability to exercise excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management, and listening skills.
  4. Ability to use analytic skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel.
  5. Outgoing personality to maintain existing client relationships, build new relationships and attend community events to represent the company.

Travel
