M&R Hotel is currently looking for a Director of Sales for the Tarrytown House Estate will is responsible for the Sales and Marketing functions of this hotel including, leading and directing the development and implementation of strategic sales and marketing plans and initiatives in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, the DOSM would be responsible for performing the following tasks, soliciting of accounts, nurturing and growing client relationships/business, working with team to consistently up-sell the hotel's rooms to meet or exceed set sales goals, budgeting, forecasting, advertising, and the creation of the marketing/business plan. Individual will adhere to all established booking reports and file maintenance procedures while also training, managing, a sales, catering and convention services team.

Job Requirements

· Manage & motivate day to day oversight of sales, catering and convention services

· Responsible for achieving budgeted top line revenues and RevPar

· Develop and manage revenue and activity goals for Sales & Catering teams

· Must utilize a "hands-on" approach to be actively involved in maintaining current accounts; as well as securing, qualifying, and following up on leads to book new clients.

· Candidate must have good computer skills, communication skills, and excellent hospitality/customer service experience.

· This position demands a flexible schedule and is event driven; this individual must be available days/nights/holidays/weekends based on the needs of the client and the Hotel

· Along with the team, solicit new business to ensure all revenue goals are achieved or exceeded within all market segments. Identify business opportunities, and proactively research, analyze, and tele-market prospective clients

· Develop/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.

· Assist hotel management departments developing and implementing hotel specific selling strategies.

· Hands-on professionalism to motivate others and a willingness to personally demonstrate a successful method of selling beyond goals and expectations.

· Implementing and monitoring sales action plans and accountability to perform to goals in a positive work environment

· Dedicates time each day to assessing the internet prospecting efforts for events & groups coming to area and forwards it to key team members for immediate follow up.

· Assists Revenue Manager and General Managers with weekly calls to review and update forecasting in order to meet and/or exceed our budgeted goals.

· Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies customer service and creates a positive example for guest relations; Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels. Reviews sales guest satisfaction results to identify areas of improvement and ensure that a customer recognition program is in effect throughout Sales.

· Maintain a weekly sales quota of outside calls, all telemarketing calls and site inspections as assigned by the Vice        President of Sales

· Oversight of the RFP process

· Has a good understanding of the Westchester/NYC market.

· Preparing contracts, reports, and other paperwork related to the sales department.

· Assist General Manager with all aspects of budget process including, but not limited to, the preparation of the annual marketing plan, including quarterly action plans covering all market segments.

· Maintains well documented, accurate, organized and up-to-date file management system in order to serve clients and employer in the most expedient, organized and knowledgeable manner. Develops strong customer relationships through frequent communication and the use of professional, courteous and ethical interpersonal interaction. Develops customer profiles and maintains an effective trace system, including trace dates and references, in order to best meet client needs, resulting in superior account service and increased revenues. Promptly follows up on all customer needs and inquiries in an efficient and expedient manner.
