Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and issue the Daily Sales Reports
- Settle credit card transactions and verify that balances agree with PMS and POS Ledgers
- Sort and file all back-up received in the night audit pack
- Review the pass down information to the Front Desk/Night Audit Team of issues or concerns from the previous day
- Work closely with the Front Desk and restaurant to ensure postings are accurate and discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner
- Review & prepare all comps and allowances reports
- Respond to guest inquiries regarding billing charges and adjustments including credit card charge backs
- Maintain proper filing and record retention
- Witness and verify the daily cash drops and deposits to the bank with the General Manager
- Investigate and follow-up on any shortages/overage from Cashier's envelope on daily basis
- Review the Guest Ledger balances and communicate discrepancies and concerns to Departments Heads, Controller, or EVP
- Participate in conducting monthly F&B inventory
- Assist with member billing inquiries and collection
- Review daily Tax Exemption certificates and support
- Assist with internal & external annual audits to ensure the hotel is following all necessary financial controls
- Cross-train with each member of the accounting Team
- Assist with month end and other departmental duties and responsibilities as assigned
Job Skills:
- Compute and record numbers correctly.
- Accounting software knowledge of M3 preferred, but not required.
- Follow procedures for keeping records.
- Perform work that is routine and detailed.
- Read and copy large quantities of numbers without error.
Job Qualifications:
Education
Associates degree or higher education in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, or related prior accounting experience in Income Audit role.
Experience
- 2-3 years income audit experience in Accounting, preferably in a Hospitality specific role.
- Knowledge of Hotel Property Management and POS systems
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong Excel and MS Office Skills
- Ability to work flexible work schedules including some weekends.
