The Group Sales Manager is directly responsible for group & function sales. The desired candidate must be well organized, detailed, energetic, and highly motivated to continually network for new business. The Group Sales Manager will report directly to the Director of Sales. Given that the Sales Manager is a liaison between Naples Hotel Group and its clients, excellent writing skills, concise verbal communications and listening skills are necessary.

 

Essential duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for handling group sales inquiries and coordinating departmental communications for incoming arrivals
  • Take booking inquiry information via phone/email and prepare proper paperwork
  • Generate sales leads through internet research/prospecting, networking, and telemarketing
  • Handle individual reservations for clients/groups as needed. Ensure that all arrangements, including upgrades, are handled properly, coordinating with other departments through oral and written instruction
  • Assist customers with plans for meetings, as well as scheduling and monitoring meeting function
  • Assist with follow-up on rooming lists, direct billing, and other logistical requirements for previously booked business
  • Ensure the prompt servicing of groups and accounts. Assist with major group check-ins as needed.
  • Streamlining day-to-day sales activities to reach top line revenue and RevPAR index goals, while maintaining company standards for guest satisfaction
  • Complete weekly sales activities to assigned hotels 
  • Participate in weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual meetings
  • Participate in local sales blitzes on a regular basis
  • Represent the hotel in public affairs in the surrounding community and in the hospitality community in your region.
  • Confidently conduct property tours with clear communication of hotels' amenities
  • Lead the on-property Sales & Events coordinator
  • Organize, file and retrieve documents in appropriate files/binders to maintain essential records used in the department operation
  • Follow consistent sales office procedures by updating account database; record account activity, call reports, traces, and history in Delphi.fdc
  • Uses various computer word processing and other software packages to enter data, produce contracts, correspondence, forms, memorandum and other documents.
  • Overall Guest Satisfaction is of highest priority! This associate must follow all guidelines and training set forth by management and the hotel specific brand.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

An intimate working knowledge of market qualification, the four-step selling process (opening/qualifying, information gathering presentation of your proposal, and closing), file and trace management, and an entrepreneurial spirit focused on creating memorable experiences for our customers is essential. In additional, an understanding of annual revenue and expense budgets is considered an asset.

Standard Qualifications:

  • Two years of hotel sales experience required
  • Read, write, speak English fluently
