Job Description:
The Director of Sales is directly responsible for acquiring and maintaining National and Local Corporate accounts, group sales, local partnerships, and directing the on property sales team. The desired candidate must be well organized, detailed and highly motivated to continually network for new business. The DOS will report to the General Manager and lead the on-property sales team. Given that the DOS is a liaison between Naples Hotel Group and its clients, excellent writing skills, concise verbal communications and listening skills are necessary.
Essential duties and Responsibilities:
- Streamlining day-to-day sales activities to reach top line revenue and RevPAR index goals, while maintaining company standards for guest satisfaction.
- Generate guest room revenue for the hotel by contracting local and national corporate accounts
- Represent the hotel in public affairs in the surrounding community.
- Generate group, catering and corporate leads through internet prospecting, networking, and telemarketing
- Responsible for handling group & catering sales inquiries and coordinating departmental communication
- Lead and participate in weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual meetings
- Lead local market/backyard sales blitz on a regular basis
- Train and develop other sales team members
- Train and develop the front office team as it relates to generating sales and improving client communications
- Ensure proper handling of individual reservations for clients/groups and ensure that all arrangements, including upgrades, are handled properly, coordinating with other departments through oral and written instruction
- Assist customers with plans for meetings, as well as scheduling and monitoring meeting functions
- Confidently conduct property tours with clear communication of hotels' amenities
- Ensure the prompt servicing of groups and assist with major group check-ins as needed
- Organize, file and retrieve documents in appropriate files/binders to maintain essential records used in the department operation
- Follow consistent sales office procedures by updating account database; record account activity, call reports, traces, and history in Delphi.fdc
- Complete and log weekly sales activities to assigned hotels (Goals TBD by VP of Sales)
- Update Business Plan, BT Volume Report and GRC, Group Rooms Control Log frequently
- Uses various computer word processing and other software packages to enter data, produce contracts, correspondence, forms, memorandum and other
- Guest Satisfaction is of highest priority! This associate must follow all guidelines and training set forth by management and the hotel specific brand.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
An intimate working knowledge of market qualification, the four-step selling process (opening/qualifying, information gathering presentation of your proposal, and closing), file and trace management, and an entrepreneurial spirit focused on creating memorable experiences for our customers is essential. In additional, an understanding of annual revenue and expense budgets is considered an asset.
Standard Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years as a Hotel Director of Sales or Sales Manager
- Hilton, Marriott or IHG sales experience preferred
- Read, write, speak English fluently
