Responsibilities
- This position will coordinate events and directs training of Banquet Staff to ensure superior quality of service and room arrangements for all meetings and banquet functions
- Analyze Banquet Event Orders, communicate effectively with Clients, Managers, and Associates, and Chef to ensure that all room set-ups, equipment, supplies, and staffing
- Exceed expectations
- Supervise banquet room set-up and clean-up daily
- Think quickly on your feet
- Ensure consistency throughout banquets
- Supervise Team members in Banquet area to retain and motivate associates and hire
- Greet clients in charge and review BEO - respond to changes/requests with immediate attention to detail
- Conduct performance reviews, resolves problems, provide open communication, and recommend discipline and termination as needed
- Communicate schedules effectively with all staff, banquets, and GM
- Implement Company programs and resolve daily operational problems through consistent monitoring of banquet operations to ensure compliance with safety
- Due to the nature of Hospitality Industry - employees may be required to work varying schedules to support the business needs of the Hotel as a whole
- Efficient scheduling of all banquet and set-up staff
- Abide by all state, federal, corporate liquor regulations pertaining to service alcoholic
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure materials
- Training in providing quality guest service and professional sales techniques
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
- Capacity to lead a team to deliver excellent service
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to lift, push or pull occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Personal appearance and attitude
- Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
