Overview: 

The Mixologist is responsible for preparing and serving beverages for guests and ensuring that all guests are served to brand standards in the restaurant/dining areas. You will be focused on optimizing each guest's experience by living out our company purpose of "hospitality from our family to yours". 

Responsibilities: 

  • Professionally welcome guests and presents them with a menu.  
  • Must be thoroughly knowledgeable about menu offerings including ingredients and preparation and able to communicate offerings to guests in a clear and concise manor.  
  • Informs guests about the special items for the day and menu changes as applicable.  
  • Take food and beverage orders from the guest. 
  • Use POS system to place orders along with any special requirements made by the guest. 
  • Communicate with the guests and provide assistance regarding any questions or concerns they may have. 
  • Serve food and beverage to the guest following brand standards. 
  • Observe guests and anticipate needs to ensure their satisfaction (i.e. Refills, ready for check, etc.) 
  • Compute bill, collect payments and issue receipt following the dining experience 
  • Perform cleaning of tables, serving stations, bar counter, barback, and other cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor 
  • Work alongside the kitchen staff to ensure customer needs are being met 
  • Maintain positive communication with all members of each department within the hotel 
  • Must understand the rule of product rotation to keep food products fresh and minimize spoiling. 
  • Responsible for stocking and replenishing food items and supplies 
  • Check identification of patrons before serving alcoholic beverages to ensure they are of legal drinking age. Acceptable forms of identification include:  
    • A valid issued state, district, territorial, possession, provincial, national or other equivalent driver's license  
    • A state issued ID with photo and date of birth or valid passport 
    • Military ID card with photo and date of birth 
  • Must complete Alcohol Training, i.e. Brand Alcohol Awareness such as ServSafe, TIPS  
  • Maintain daily temperature and waste logs of the bar 
  • Receive, date, and examine bar products and supplies to ensure quality and quantity 
  • Meet order requests from the restaurant and standard specifications 
  • Reset counters and tables at guests' departure and at end of shifts 
  • Beverage stations offering alcoholic beverages must be manned at all times. At no time is a guest permitted to serve themselves Greet each guest that you encounter during your shift with a friendly smile.  
  • Ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional. 
  • Follow hotel procedures for reporting and turning in lost and found articles. 
  • Coordinate with other departments as necessary to resolve service requests or problems. 
  • Ensure guest and associate safety by following established security procedures including emergency procedures, key security and protecting guest and company confidential information. 
  • Follow all company and safety procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications. 

Qualifications: 

  • Qualified applicants should be team oriented with an innate sense of urgency and the ability to work in a fast pace environment 
  • Prior experience with customer service or food and beverage is preferred.  
  • Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and objects in excess of 50 pounds with assistance. Stands, sits, or walks for an extended time period.  
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
