Summary:  The Retrofitter will be required to perform the following tasks:  Repair, and/or replacement of electrical equipment, including but not limited to ballasts, lamps, sockets, switches, fuses, fixtures, and sensors involving voltages ranging from 120 to 480 volts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following statements of duties, responsibilities, frequency, and percentages are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.  These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities of all personnel within this position.  Actual duties, responsibilities, frequency, and percentages may vary depending upon customer assignments and other factors.

Daily: 80%

Provide support and assistance in the repair, and/or replacement of electrical equipment, including but not limited to ballasts, lamps, sockets, switches, fuses, fixtures, and sensors involving voltages ranging from 120 to 480 volts.  Also responsible for the cleaning of lenses and fixtures as required.

Responsible for the tracking of inventory and the maintenance of company equipment, as well as detailed reporting.  

Responsible for operating a truck and trailer in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury or property damage, in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures. 

Extensive and excessive travel is required, including the possibility of being away from home for periods up to six (6) weeks at a time.  Work hours are generally overnight.

Ongoing: 20%

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Training:

High school diploma or equivalent, plus specialized courses in electrical systems a plus.

Experience:

General working knowledge of electricity and AC electrical circuits is preferred.

Skills, Knowledge, Equipment & Other:

Basic ability to understand documents, and identify and accurately troubleshoot problems.  Requires the knowledge and skill in the safe use of ladders up to 14', scissor lifts to 20', and hand and power tools required in the related trade.  Required to work overtime on both a scheduled and emergency basis. Subject to after-hours recall.  Subject to customer specific needs, employee may be required to remove snow.  English language skills are required. 

Basic ability to operate a truck and trailer in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury or property damage, in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures, including:

                Ability to drive and back up a truck and trailer combination in various weather conditions;

                Knowledge of truck, trailer and equipment safety;

                Loading and securing of lift to prevent movement and allow safe transport;

                Assisting in loading and unloading lift as required;

                Connecting and disconnecting trailer as required;

                Maintaining accurate records and logs; and

                Performing vehicle inspections and maintenance in accordance with company's vehicle   policies.

Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations:

A "clean" driver's license in the state of employment is required at the time of hire, and must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.  Employee will be required to operate one or more company vehicles.  Employee must maintain a driving record that meets the standards of the company insurance policy.  Employee will be required to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card.  Drug testing is done prior to employment and randomly thereafter.

Supervision/Technical Responsibilities:  No supervisory skills required.

Safety To Self And Others:

Medium exposure to self to electrical burns and heat burns from working with electricity.  Medium exposure to self from cuts due to working with varying types of fixtures and metal pieces.  High exposure to self and others to repetitive motion or stress due to working with electrical tools.
