Overview 

We are seeking a high energy, creative, results-oriented individual to join our dynamic sales team. You will report to the Director of Sales while working in a fun and upbeat environment where your creative input is valued.  In this position you will receive training on Delphi FDC sales system, Best Western sales tools and Opera inventory management.  Responsibilities include conducting property tours, preparing group agreements, develop packages, inventory management, client consultations and event management, reporting using Microsoft Office Suite and effective communication with the operations team.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Generate leads through internet prospecting, networking, and telemarketing. 
  • Qualify sales leads generated by General Manager and Sales Management Team.
  • Coordinate and help plan events with clients, manage vendors and ensure proper execution of functions.
  • Develop social functions at the hotel and Tiki Bar that are open to the public and guests.  Ensure proper execution and marketing of these events.
  • Assist in the development of packages with area golf courses, wedding venues and wellness get-a-ways.
  • Confidently conduct property tours with clear communication of hotels' amenities.
  • Participate in company sales blitzes and outside sales calls on a regular basis.
  • Represent the hotel in public affairs in the surrounding community and in the hospitality community in your region. Generate guest room and meeting revenue for the hotel by booking inquires (rate guidelines will be provided). 
  • Handle individual reservations for clients/groups as needed. Ensure that all arrangements, including upgrades, are handled properly, coordinating with other departments through oral and written instruction.
  • Assist with follow-up on cut-off date, rooming lists, billing and other logistical requirements for upcoming groups and events. 
  • Qualify and send leads to Centralized Sales Team through the business evaluation process.
  • Assist in training Front Desk Team to sales and revenue management initiatives. 
  • Complete weekly sales activities to assigned hotel.
  • Participate in weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual meetings. 
  • Implement and communicate revenue management reports: IE. Daily Detailed Report, 10 Days RevMax, etc. 
  • Ensure the prompt servicing of groups and events.  Assist with major group and event arrivals as needed.
  • Organize, file and retrieve documents in appropriate files/binders to maintain essential records used in the department operation.
  • Follow consistent sales office procedures by updating account database; record account activity, call reports, activities, and history in Delphi FDC.
  • Uses various computer word processing and other software packages to enter data, produce contracts, correspondence, forms, memorandum and other documents. 
  • Be required to be cross trained with other departments and may be required to perform such task on a periodic basis.
  • Greet each guest that you encounter during your shift with a friendly smile.  
  • Ensures uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional. 
  • Follow hotel procedures for reporting and turning in lost and found articles. 
  • Coordinate with other departments as necessary to resolve service requests or problems. 
  • Ensure guest and associate safety by following established security procedures including emergency procedures, key security and protecting guest and company confidential information. 
  • Follow all company and safety procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications.
